Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s fragmented launch on PC so far has been very successful, having seen almost 3 million players when Halo: Reach came out- you can read our review for that through here. Like Halo: Reach, 343 will have multiple betas for Combat Evolved, to test the multiplayer, the campaign (both solo and co-op), the customization, and the progression system.
Reddits home for all things Halo, the video game series developed by 343 Industries and previously developed by Bungie. In an update on Halo Waypoint, the developer confirmed that Halo: Combat Evolved, which will be launching on PC some time this year, will see its first beta test beginning at the end of this month, before that is extended to external players in February. They do look nice and sci-fi, I always felt like the marines in Reach were just modern day marines, and nothing had changed in 500 years. Next in line to see its release is Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and as 343 Industries promised earlier, its beta testing process is going to begin soon. That kicked off with Halo: Reach’s launch in December, which was preceded by months of beta testing.
Last year, Microsoft and 343 Industries began the processing of bringing of the entire Halo franchise ( other than 5) over to PC with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Halo: Combat Evolved, previously known as Halo, Blam and Monkey Nuts, had a very long and complicated development process.Starting as an RTS for the Apple Mac, ending up as an FPS on Microsoft's Xbox and having some time as a third person shooter in between, it took four long, hard years for Bungie to finally release what would become one of the best selling titles on the Xbox, and a classic.
